Your Voice. Our Vision. One Ward 9.
Whoever you supported in September, my door is open.
Ward 9 is stronger when we work together, and I want to earn your vote. I came to Providence from the Dominican Republic at nine. Janet and I have raised our family right here in Ward 9 for 32 years. This is where we plan to grow old.
Promised. Delivered. / Prometido. Cumplido.
What We've Achieved
Fought for a 4% cap on rent increases
Co-sponsored rent stabilization, voted to pass it and voted to override the veto. It fell one vote short. Next year it can pass.
A new $82 million Pre-K-8 school
The Lima/Stuart campus replacing Gilbert Stuart, with a dual-language program for our kids.
Safer, brighter parks
$300,000 in new LED lighting at O'Neil Park in Roger Williams Park, plus neighborhood clean-ups and mattress pickups.
Immigrant families, veterans and seniors
Council protections against ICE overreach. Created the Veterans Commission and hired the city's first veterans service coordinator. Tax relief for seniors.
What Juan Stands For
Housing you can afford
Pass the 4% rent cap, keep growing the Affordable Housing Trust Fund and help homeowners keep their homes.
Schools we're proud of
Finish the Lima/Stuart campus and keep pushing to return Providence schools to local control.
Safe, clean streets
Well-lit parks, clean streets, plowed roads and city services you can count on.
Honor in immigration
Stand with immigrant families, as Juan has since writing the state's nolo contendere law in the Senate.
Veterans and seniors
A 22-year Air National Guard veteran, Juan keeps fighting for veteran services and senior tax relief.
Local small business
Strong support for the shops and restaurants on Broad Street and Elmwood Avenue that make Ward 9 home.
